Brunswick Forest Opens 3 Neighborhoods, Sales Top $116 Million Mark

 Burnswickneewgolfer
Brunswick Forest, NC: New neighborhoods, healthy sales.

Brunswick Forest, located on North Carolina’s Cape Fear
Coast and spurred by strong sales recently, announces the
opening of three new neighborhoods representing more than
200 new homes. Six new model homes are already open, the
first of 11 new models to be ready in the next three months.

The six new decorator-furnished model homes will open in the
Villamar, Gardenwood and Belshaw neighborhoods. As with
last year’s  Dream Street model opening, interest in
Brunswick Forest has been quite high, say the developers,
drawing more than 100 prospects a week.

The new models are expected to add to a sales pace that has
already exceeded $116 million and 407 homes and homesites
through January of this year. More than $49 million in sales
has been posted in just the last six months.

The 139 transactions recorded since the August 2007 opening
of the new Welcome Center make Brunswick Forest one of
the fastest-selling communities in the greater Wilmington
area, community officials say.

The outlook for 2008 is even better, they predict. In January,
traditionally a slow month for home purchases, Brunswick
Forest recorded 10 sales totaling $4 million. Executives at the
community expect as many as 18 new contracts to be
written in February.

Secluded on North Carolina’s Cape Fear Coast, Brunswick
Forest
is a thoughtfully planned 4,500-acre retreat only
minutes from historic Wilmington. Ancient woodlands, slow-
moving creeks and broad meadows provide the dramatic
backdrop for a community with a wealth of amenities.
Topping the list is Cape Fear National® Country Club,  a 27-
hole championship course which plans to open its first 18
holes in the summer of 2009.

The community will also feature two water-themed facilities—
the River Club and Ocean Club—a Community Garden, a
Wellness/Fitness Center, parks, preserves, miles of leisure
trails and a pedestrian-friendly commercial village.

A vast 100-mile network of paths and trails provide
access to the facilities from all of Brunswick Forest’s
neighborhoods. Homesites start at $150,000. homes begin
at $259,5000. To request more information, click here.

Black_bull
Black Bull, MT: New sculptures echo community name.

Black Bull, the mountain golf community sited on 485 acres
west of Bozeman, Montana, recently commissioned world-
renowned artist Jim Dolan to craft creative renderings of
five bulls that would welcome visitors and members to the
private community.

The bulls represent the heritage of the development,
beckoning back to the days when it was home to the historic
Leachman Angus Ranch. The bulls are now in place and
landscaping around the sculptures and water features will
resume this spring.

Enjoy mountain views and a Weiskopf championship course.

Each metal used in the five sculptures weathers at its own
distinct rate, so years of exposure will enhance the sculptures'
contrasts. Dolan has more than 95 public art sculptures in the
United States and 9 public pieces in Japan. Individual pieces
have found homes in the US, Canada, Belgium, France,
Australia, Brazil and Japan.

Holy Cow! Endangered Right Whale & Calf Spotted off Amelia Island Plantation

Amelia_island_plantation187
Amelia Island Plantation, FL: Right whales seen off coast.

Christina Nelson, Nature Program Manager at Amelia Island
Plantation
, recently spied  In the shallow waters off the beach
at The Dunes Club a sight she had been waiting 12 years to
see--Right Whales. There off the coast a mother and her
young calf remained on the surface of the water for at least
an hour before traveling northward along the coastline toward
the Amelia Inn & Beach Club.

“I watched in awe as the youngster submerged then floated
to the surface blowing water from its blow holes," she said
excitedly. "The calf would swim around the mother, pause
to nurse, and then flip its tail as it investigated the
dolphins that were passing by. I got a few pictures--most
look like black logs floating on the ocean, but the memory
will remain with me forever,” said Nelson.

Right whales are one of the most endangered whale species
with only about 300 remaining. In spring and summer
Northern Right whales swim along the coast of Canada and
New England where they feed on plankton. In late fall and
early winter, the pregnant females make their annual
migration to the warm coastal waters off South Carolina,
Georgia, and Northeast Florida where they give birth.

The waters off these southeastern states are designated as
Right Whale Critical Habitat because it is the only calving
area known for this whale. Amelia Island Plantation, which
has its own Nature Center and Staff Naturalist, is featured
on www.GreenGolfCommunities.net.

Greg Norman Pays a Visit to His Creation at Jupiter Country Club

Helicopter_at_jccimage_0077
Jupiter CC: Greg Norman shows how to arrive in style!

Golf legend Greg Norman, whose golf course design company
created the recently opened 18-hole Greg Norman Signature
Golf Course at Jupiter Country Club, was on hand at the new
community on January 31 to show off the fairways and greens
now being enjoyed by members.

Under development by Toll Brothers, 480-acre Jupiter Country
Club is situated just west of Florida’s Turnpike on Indiantown
Road in the town of Jupiter. Upon completion, the Tuscan-
inspired community will feature luxury single-family homes
and luxury townhomes, along with the golf course, a Grande
Clubhouse, and a separate health and fitness center.

The by-invitation-only event, which attracted about 150
guests, was centered on the golf course, where the affable
Norman had landed his private helicopter just prior to the
event. He had flown in from the Orlando area where he had
received the prestigious Old Tom Morris Award for his
contributions to the game of golf.

Greg Norman discusses his new course at Jupiter CC.

Jupiter Country Club’s Pro Manager Matt Wilson emceed
while Norman showed off his swing and offered golf tips
during a mini clinic on the new course’s serpentine,
par-5 sixteenth hole.

A cocktail reception and informal press conference followed
for club members and the media on the pool terrace of
the Carina model home.

Toll Brothers Assistant Vice President Clay Cameron said
that Toll Brothers, which is celebrating its 41st anniversary,
developed its first golf course community 20 years ago.
The company has now completed more than 20 such
communities nationwide.

Norman said, “We started with a flat piece of ground.
The hardest part was creating good movement without
making anything look artificial. A golf course is best
when it looks like everything belongs.”

Jcc_golf_course_image_065
Norman's championship layout was recently opened to members.

Norman also said that taking an environmentally friendly
approach was important to him and to Toll Brothers.
“We are very sensitive to the local flora and fauna.”
Before concluding his visit, Norman said, “The value
is locked in the ground here at Jupiter Country Club. It’s in
the golf course and in the homes…Buy now because the
value is only going to increase over time.”

Established in 1987 in Sydney, Australia, Greg Norman
Golf Course Design is headquartered in Jupiter. The
company has grown into one of the leading golf course
design companies in the world, with completed or
ongoing projects on six continents. The Jupiter Country
Club course is one of more than 60 golf courses worldwide
by Greg Norman Golf Course Design, which has an
additional 60 courses under contract.

At Jupiter Country Club, all homes will overlook the golf
course or have lake or nature preserve views. Toll Brothers

GreenGolfCommunities.net Launched by Golf Course Home® Network

Bricklede339412
Brickshire, VA: Green with Audubon Sanctuary course.

GolfCourseHome.net and the Golf Course Home® Network
announced the launch of www.GreenGolfCommunities.net
today.

The 31st Network Member Website, GreenGolfCommunities
showcases more than 50 master-planned golf and waterview
communities in 16 states that have demonstrated leadership
in pursuing and promoting environmentally friendly policies
and construction.

Qualifying communities are assigned to one of four
categories—Vanguard, Steward, Sustaining and Participant
depending on the extent of their green programs and
achievements. These designations are fluid in that a
community can move up (or down) based on new programs
added in the future.

Each community can stand out in up to 18 different areas,
ranging from Significant Green Space, Staff Naturalist,
Nature Center, Education & Research and Habitat
Restoration to Green Construction (LEED, etc.), Conservation
Foundation, Research Partnership, Volunteer Programs,
Archeological Preserve and participation in Audubon
International
’s Sanctuary program.

“A person wants to feel proud of the community in which
he lives,” said David Lott, Golf Course Home® Network
Founder and Publisher. “And a good part of that pride
comes from the positive environmental impact the
community might have, such as creating preserves,
restoring habitats and clean water practices.

“GreenGolfCommunities.net will make it easier to find out
who the environmental leaders in community development
are.”
