Balsam Mountain Preserve, NC's Inaugural Charity Classic golf tournament helped raise $30,000 dollars via entry fees, a silent auction and reception. The tournament benefits charitable organizations that serve Jackson County residents. Despite what you read in the headlines, the golf course community and waterview community market is moving ahead and adapting to market conditions. 

The leaders in any market usually act the same way—they remain visible and active. Companies such as Lennar Homes, which announced this week a special promotion of just $21 down for a new home, are among those who believe that positive action promotes positive results. Last fall Pulte made news with its Monster Sale during Halloween. 

A Buyer’s Market
These promotions continue to demonstrate that the buyers’ market is in full force and, for those who can make it happen, this is an excellent time to be a buyer. The steady steam of requests for information that we receive each day, in addition to anecdotal evidence of home sales, says that a lot of people are still in the market for a second home, vacation home or retirement property. And they are buying.

The point to remember is that markets are cyclical and this market will come back, too. The timing is what remains a mystery.
