Carolina Country Club homeowners meet Lucas Black at BMW.
The recently concluded BMW Charity Pro Am Tournament was well received by members and more than 350 homeowners at The Carolina Country Club last week.
The tournament finished up on Sunday, May 18th with Michael Sim winning the 9th annual tournament. "Every year we look forward to being one of the host site for this tournaments and we are already looking forward to next year," says Ron Murray, CCC homeowner and member.
Recording artist Javier Colon: Records an ace.
The first day of the BMW Charity Pro-Am was especially successful for recording artist, Javier Colon. He hit a hole in one on the 12th hole at 138 yards with a sand wedge on the Carolina Country Club course.
Hundreds came out to see the pros, celebrities and amateurs play on the Carolina Course. Membership Director, Jan Witherspoon reports ticket sales for the day were doubled from last year on the first day of the tournament.

Meanwhile, on the Nationwide Tour, up-and-coming PGA Tour competitors join celebrities such as Dennis Quaid, Greg Kinnear, Wayne Gretzky and Joe Mantegna in BMW Charity Pro-Am, hosted by The Carolina Country Club, SC and Bright’s Creek Golf Club, NC.

After 36 holes, David Mathis is leading the BMW Charity Pro-Am being played this weekend in Upstate South Carolina. Mathis grabbed a two-shot lead, by shooting a 7-under-par 65 at Bright's Creek Golf Club. The tournament has one of the largest purses on the Nationwide Tour with a total purse of $650,000 and a winner's share of $117,000.
The BMW Charity Pro-Am is the only tournament on the Nationwide® PGA TOUR where amateurs and celebrities are grouped with Nationwide PGA TOUR Professionals in a three-day better-ball competition.
Amateurs, celebrities and pros rotate between three courses - Thornblade Club (Greer, SC), The Carolina Country Club (Spartanburg, SC) and Bright's Creek Golf Club (Mill Spring, NC)- with the 14 lowest scoring pro-amateur/pro-celebrity teams advancing to play Sunday's final round at Thornblade Club.
Celebrities competing this weekend include actors Luke Wilson, Greg Kinnear, Dennis Quaid, Joe Pesci, Catherine Bell, Gary Valentine, Michael Pena and Jason Dohring and former "Apprentice" winner Stefanie Schaeffer.
