Avanti before being hauled out and work started.
After 10 days of bringing the brightwork back to life, compounding the hull, repainting the bottom, attending to a long list tweaks and updates, provisioning, and stops and starts, David Lott, Publisher of WaterViewHome.net and the WaterViewHome Network, and Captain John Chamberlin are ready to set off from Baltimore Harbor bound for the island of Martha's Vineyard.
Patrick Parrillon of Annapolis Yacht Refinishing worked on the teak for 9 days sanding and then adding 10 coats of finish to bring the brightwork back to life. Patrick is really an artist and has completed work all over the country.
The rails and coamings of Avanti are sanded down to bare wood.
Epiphane coatings start to shine; note the meticulous taping around the wood surfaces.
Just about half the 10 coats are now on.
The bottom and topsides much improved.
Next: Launching, provisioning and setting sail!
