Holmes Holers Laurie & Tom Welch report with "a mix of sadness and excitement" that they are selling their beloved 30' Vineyard Vixen Eastaway. The excitement clearly extends frorm their pruchase of a J100 which they havve named Dark & Stormy.
Eastaway has been a regular competitor in Holmes Hole Sailing events in Vineyard Sound, including the Moffett Race (pictured above), and belongs to that special breed of Vixens which were designed and constructed on-island at the Martha's Vineyard Shipyard.
If anyone knows of someone looking for a great solid boat Eastie may be a perfect fit.
"The photo above is a picture of her completing the hellacious 2012 Moffett Race which mightily challenged the whole fleet. (Finishing that day was in and of itself a bit of a victory)," says Laurie.
"She is /has been a hearty, stable and able teacher and we are sad to see her go. She needs someone who has the time / inclination for cosmetic attention but we've kept her clean!"
