NBC Wins Sunday, Boosted By U.S. Open Ratings & a Better Playing Tiger: MediaPost

NBC won a weak summer Sunday -- with a stronger-than-expected U.S Open golf event.

The event's prime-time Nielsen preliminary 2.3 rating/9 share among 18-49 viewers was up 35% in ratings from a year ago. Two top golf personalities --Phil Mickelson and a better-playing Tiger Woods -- helped to lift these results.
