The Top 4 players in the FedEx Cup standings heading into this weekend’s BMW Championship are former Nationwide Tour players, and three of which directly ascended to the PGA TOUR via a year-end Top 25 finish on the Nationwide Tour.
Current No. 1 Matt Kuchar (2006) leads “The 25” graduates, followed by No. 2 Charley Hoffman (2005), and No. 4 Jason Day (2007), with No. 3 Steve Stricker having made the transition via sponsor exemption success in 2006.
Ryder Cup Team Members
In addition, nine of the 12 members of the 2010 Ryder Cup Team are former Nationwide Tour Players. The Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island, scheduled October 25-31, 2010, is the Nationwide Tour’s season-ending event where the top 60 money winners compete for 25 PGA TOUR cards and a spot on the 2011 PGA Tour.
