Kiawah Island, SC: New 'Best of the Best' No. 1.
The Golf Course Home® Network has released its 2011 "Best of the Best" golf community rankings and the annual list has its first new No. 1 in four years--Kiawah Island, SC.
The GCH Network’s annual compendium takes into account all major media rankings of golf communities and their amenities for the calendar year. The 2011 edition's new top-rated community nudged aside famed Reynolds Plantation, GA, which had been the list's leading property for the past three years.
How It Works
GolfCourseHome Editors arrive at their rankings by studying and compiling all of the year’s prominent magazine ranking and rating lists which range from Best in State to Best Residential, from Best Public to Best Private to Best Classic, from Best Modern to Top 100 to Top 50, plus ratings from Forbes.com, Where to Retire magazine and other major media outlets.

The GCH Best of the Best list's new No. 1—Kiawah Island, SC (18 major awards)—features the dramatic Ocean Course which has been selected as the host course for the 2012 PGA Championship. Six of the Top 10 are new to the list while four communities are repeat winners.
